    1. Thanks! This was my first time in Paris, stayed 4 nights only so I barely scratched the surface. Can’t wait to get back, next time I’ll try to stay there for a couple of weeks.

  1. A friend was a tour guide at Sainte-Chapelle, so we got the behind-the-scenes tour.

The coolest part was going up rickety wooden ladders to the space between the upper ceiling and the outer roof. It was a unique view of the chapel and all the people way down below.

Apparently, there used to be a mattress up there, for “recreational exercise”…

Sounds like an awesome and unique thing to do!

  2. The first time I actually looked up and saw this there was just this indescribable moment of overwhelming awe. It is breathtaking how beautiful this is. Photos do it no justice. Just another reminder of how travel can always remind us that we are but a speck in the grandness of the world; the world is so much bigger than just us and our bubbles of reality.

    1. That’s what I felt when I first saw the Louvre Palace! It was my first time in Europe and London didn’t wowed me like Paris did.

  3. This was my favorite place we went in Paris. I had seen it on this site and knew we had to go. We did all the usual stuff (Eiffel, Notre Dame, Louvre), but this was a slightly less known thing that I had to make sure we did. Walking into that room for the first time is awe-inspiring. So worth it. Amazing place.
